To the users of the Jupyter server on notebook.nevis.columbia.edu:

I've upgraded the version of ROOT used by the server to the latest version, ROOT 6.22.02. This version is the most recent stable release from the ROOT team:

<https://root.cern/doc/v622/release-notes.html#release-6.2202>

Unfortunately, this version introduces a flaw: JSROOT no longer works in Jupyter notebooks. This problem is supposed to be fixed in the next version of ROOT, which should be out in a month or so.

<https://sft.its.cern.ch/jira/browse/ROOT-10916>
<https://github.com/root-project/jsroot/issues/166>

If you use PyROOT and include the statement

    import ROOT

You will see an error message:

    An exception occurred while loading libCore.so with ctypes

Unless you are calling C++ code from within Python, this error will not affect you.
